Map out your semester before the first day of class.
1. Start with a blank weekly schedule.
2. Add in your class schedule and study time. For every credit hour you take, you need to average an additional 1-3hrs per credit hour.
3. Add your additional priorities and responsibilities like family, work, personal time and sleep.
Make sure you understand what your faculty expect from you. In each class you will receive a syllabus, which is your guiding document for the semester. In it the instructor will lay out for you their expectation that are specific to that particular course and faculty member. In addition:
- Show up for class everyday! Most instructors will have attendance policies that they follow. Missing classes may lead to a reduction in your grade.
-Be on time! Turn in your work on time.
-Be prepared for class! Read your reading assignments before class.
-Respect each others' opinions and who they are! You won't always agree with everyone, but having respect for others, their opinions and who they are is important.
